Educator Voice

Advocacy ensures that we enhance student learning and improve educator working conditions–benefiting our students, schools, and the community as a whole.

It also gives Union members a genuine voice in their workplace, helping to ensure educator rights, fair compensation and benefits, retirement security, and enhanced, safe conditions for student learning.

OUR APPROACH: STUDENT-CENTERED ADVOCACY

Students, and student-centered issues, are at the heart of our organizing and engagement efforts. This type of advocacy is about taking charge and implementing educator-led solutions that work for our students and their schools. It involves leveraging collective power in new ways to raise the voice and vision of educators and build stronger partnerships with parents, students, and other community stakeholders that share common values. In our advocacy for the schools South Carolina students deserve, The SCEA members fight for:

  • smaller class sizes
  • less testing
  • increased staffing of nurses and counselors
  • community schools.

Join us in our advocacy and take action now!

A collective group like The SCEA is a proven, trusted network to support you in the ability to step out there and say “This has to change,” and you won’t be stepping out alone.

Stand with School Librarians

School Librarians stand up for the Freedom to Read because, for them, it's about the students the books represent.

Stand with them because they stand for our students.
