The SCEA Letter in opposition to universal voucher schemes

Dear Chairman Bradley: 

On behalf of the membership of The South Carolina Education Association (“The SCEA”), I wish to convey our opposition to South Carolina House Bill 5164. 

The SCEA is opposed to any measure that directs public funds to private programs when those funds could otherwise be spent in support of our State’s public education system. As such, we request that you and all other subcommittee members vote not to report out H 5164 as favorable to the full South Carolina House Education and Public Works Committee.
